When Nikolas and Roxanna run afoul of their magician uncle, he punishes them with a spell that turns them into waterfowl. But what was meant to be a temporary measure becomes permanent when their uncle disappears.
Now, years later, Roxy and Nikky have a comfortable, if unusual, life as a swan and a loon during the day and humans at night. All of their neighbors know the story and have become accustomed to their peculiar schedule, but trouble comes when newcomers arrive. Soon, Nikky and Roxy both find themselves ensnared in a treacherous plot that threatens two kingdoms.
