When Nevara casts the Shraldi Caerugi - the Calling Stone of the Wistaori people - and thereby convokes a meeting of the rulers of all regions of the lowlands, she does so by accident. But accident or not, the conference leads to the beginning of an epic journey for seven brave companions - one (or two) from each region.

The people of the lowlands have long dwelt in the shadow and shelter of the enormous Klmavis Cliffs, but now there is need to venture into the highlands with all of its eeriness and dangers. The mission seems impossible from the start, for no one has ever entered the highlands, until a mysterious man hailing from the farthest reaches of the lowlands steps forward with an audacious claim: he has been to the highlands and back and will act as a guide.

Can he be trusted? Will the mission end in disaster? Will any survive? Perhaps most importantly, is the goal worth the cost?
