Imagine a universe in which the emptiness of space is not cold but searingly hot, in which stars produce light as a by-product of a process in which heat is converted to gravity, and in which wormholes known as flumes enable travel between planets, solar systems, and galaxies.

In this universe, a star soarer known as Captain Robie leads a corsair crew on raids throughout three galaxies. A fearsome man with a hook for a hand, he is nevertheless said by some to have a heart of gold. But his enemies know there is more to his pirating than mere greed, and his greatest enemy of all will stop at nothing to see Robie hanged. That will not be an easy task - Robie is a universal legend for a reason.

No one can beat him. No one can catch him. And no one can find him.
